We are seeking an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our established team and be a part of a Practice that really makes a difference.

The role of HCA is an essential part of our GP Practice team who provide the full range of NHS Primary Medical Services. You will be working alongside our friendly and patient focused clinical and management teams, providing an essential support function and delivering the best care to all our patients. You must work with autonomy and a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, discretion, empathy and tact.

Working under supervision of our Practice Nurses and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the post-holder will be responsible for performing a range of procedures and health-checks for patients, dependent upon competency and training.

These may include: phlebotomy, injections, blood pressure monitoring, simple dressings and ECGs. The role will also include administrative elements such as fridge checking, ordering supplies etc. The role is varied, interesting and allows relationships to be built with regular patients.

The practice is a training centre in a range of clinical disciplines and can offer specific support and development to HCA’s with any level of experience including those who are newly qualified – with progression and development opportunities available.

  • The position is available from now and we are looking at 18-24 hours per week. The contract is permanent and subject to references, DBS and a subsequent agreed probation period.
